Insurance at Pikes Peak Eye Care

Medicare, Medicaid, VSP, Eyemed, Tricare...

We are aware that it can be expensive to provide your entire family with professional eye care services and quality prescription eyewear. At Pikes Peak Eye Care, we want everyone to enjoy clear vision and benefit from our expert optometrists. That’s why we are committed to helping our patients find ways to reduce the cost of their eye health and vision care. Medical and vision insurance plans both offer effective solutions.

Our eye care clinic staff in Colorado Springs, CO will assist you to make the most of your insurance coverage. There are significant differences between medical health insurance plans and vision insurance, and many patients do not fully understand their benefits. We’ll be pleased to review your policy with you to explain what you are entitled to receive. We aim to make your eye care as cost-effective as possible!

In general, vision insurance grants discounts on routine eye care – such as vision testing and prescription eyeglasses. In contrast, medical insurance plans typically cover the professional diagnosis of eye disease, such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, in addition to any treatments necessary to manage it. Comprehensive, dilated eye examinations are included in the coverage, as well as medical complications and emergency eye treatment. To ensure that you receive approval from your medical insurance, it’s important to make your claims with a diagnosis from a qualified eye care practitioner.

We offer both medical eye care and routine vision care at our Colorado Springs, CO eye doctor's office. To help make the cost affordable for as many patients as possible, we accept several insurance plans.

FYI: Vision Insurance vs. Health Insurance

A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.

Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.
